Brake Fluid DOT 4 Overview
LightBee Complete FrontBrake Assembly Brake Fluid DOT 4 is a complex blend of polyglycol ethers, glycol ether borate esters, and polyglycols, enhanced with corrosion and oxidation inhibitors. It is commonly used in stock front brake assemblies and is compatible with DOT 4 oil. Both DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 brake fluids are glycol-based and widely used in the automotive and cycling industries, regulated by standards set by the Department of Transportation (DOT). The primary difference between DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 fluids is their boiling points.

Guide to Checking Your Brake Fluid

1. Locate the brake fluid reservoir on the master cylinder under your car’s hood. Refer to your owner’s manual for the exact location.
2. Check the “minimum” and “maximum” lines on the reservoir; the fluid level should fall between these marks.
3. Inspect the color of the brake fluid to ensure it is in good condition.
