It works by periodically applying the brake pads to the brake discs, effectively wiping away any unwanted film of water. This process ensures that the brakes achieve their full effect more rapidly, resulting in shorter braking distances. The brake rotor (disc) rotates with the wheel and is decelerated by brake pads—made of friction material—mounted in the caliper. When pressure is applied from the piston mechanism, the pads clamp onto both sides of the disc, slowing and eventually stopping the vehicle.
